No, being denied entry into the First Division after the play-off final win against Sunderland was worse. And, god hope it doesn't happen, going out of business altogether would be much worse. |

The thing is, IF Paolo was to leave now, there would be a sense of unfulfilled potential.
It would have been like Macari leaving halfway through his first season in Division 3, who knows what would have happened, but I doubt if we would have had the 10 year rollercoaster of promotions & relegations we had after. I also doubt whether we would have got Ardilles or Hoddle as managers.

To have the plug pulled within a gnats dick of a possible chance to get in the Championship. For a player that must feel disastrous. But the good ones can leave and try elsewhere. Which is why Roberts perspective is somewhat different to ours . |

Must admit that when I saw the statement, I felt very similar to what I did when both Macari and Hoddle left - Am impending sense of doom and anger at the lack of fairness in the world and that good things were coming to an end far too early. |
