Maybe he's just learning how to conduct himself a little more professionally?
PDC has been learning ever since he arrived - and in my opinion, very quickly
He is driven, he is motivational, he is disciplined. He always praises us, the customers. The system of play can vary but is nearly always planned and the opposition reserached. Fitness levels are maintained at a high level and there are no prima donnas in the squad. He is decisive, whether with early substitutions and about players (albeit at some expense, where there is still a balance to seek) but no-one ever gets too comfortable and the team is everything (Wilson anyone?).
PDC tragically loses both parents in Italy in quick succession and gutted though he is barely loses focus on the job. When STFCs star player is sold under his feet to a promotion rival amidst AB putting a gun to STFCs head to achieve a hasty disinvestment, is it really such a surprise that PDC now steps up and acts with restraint?
If it is surprising, it is also because PDC is also a maverick who often surprises. PDC is a Latin Brian Clough and no corporate speak manager. He is driven to achieve and steps on toes. Unconventional is not unprofessional however.
