I do find I'm not as grumpy in the mornings now I'm not listening to Mack bicker with local councillors over potholes and the new dj said yesterday that his son has jettisoned Bristol City in favour of being a Swindon fan - so the new show is growing on me.

Although traffic updates about cattle on a road just outside Collingbourne Ducis does annoy me a bit.

The new show bored me rigid and I have nearly 0 interest in anything outside Swindon bar the route to Chippenham. I've switched to 5 live

I liked Mack arguing with councillors, its the only way I knew what the useless blighters were up to and whether they did what they said they'd do (which, surprisingly, they sometimes did).

The problem they have - and the reason that the Swindon and Wiltshire stations split in the first place for some programmes - is that Swindon has very little to do with the south of the county, and vice versa.  Transport links between the two are poor; someone from Salisbury, for example, is much more likely to work in Southampton than they are in Swindon.  A combined Wiltshire entity doesn't really make much sense.

Politicians recognised this in the 1990s, which is why Swindon's affairs are no longer administered from Trowbridge.

This is not aimed at anyone specifically.....

If you like it, listen to it.
If you don't like it, listen to something else.

You should put that on the advice forum as a sticky.
