The Breakfast shows for BBC Wilts and BBC Swindon are going to merge.
The presenter from BBC Wilts has said he hasn't got the show after the merger, so I assumed Graham Mack had.
They are both pretty good TBH.

I just don't understand why they'd merge the Swindon and Wiltshire breakfast radio shows. I mean the two places are completely unrelated.

I think he must be in the Swindon liberation army Jan. Fighting for emancipation from oppression from the imperialistic Wiltshire dictatorship.

BBC Radio Wales BBC Radio Scotland BBC Radio Swindon
How is it that Swindon ended up with its own BBC local radio station?

Excluding Salisbury, there must be about as many people in the borough of swindon as there are in the rest of wiltshire.
We deserve our station dammit.

Graham Mac is down under on holiday (I think its just holiday) Whilst Swindon is in Wiltshire I have as much interest in what is happening in Salisbury as I do Birmingham. That is zero interest. Shame they've buggered the morning show. Its the only place I get Swindon news from, that's the borough in general not just the football club:(

Carefully chosen words there Batch but I can see through your thin veneer of deceit. You are clearly rebellious against the Wiltshire cause. You and your ilk will be made to pay for your treachery.

Lets be honest, whilst Wiltshire is home to by far the greatest team the world has ever seen, its not a proper county on account of only having a minor counties cricket team.
Gloucestershire. Now that's what I call a county.

Graham Mack is currently in New Zealand, he stopped off at Tokyo on the way and is back next week I believe.
The merger was announced a year or so ago, The breakfast show is the last bit that is exclusively Swindon, from 9am until 7pm it is Wiltshire wide, except soccer specials which switch back to the Swindon broadcast. Some may remember when it was announced that Mack said on his breakfast show that it could be the end of the soccer specials and we are more likely to get a regional sports show covering us, Rovers, City, Yeovil, Plymouth, Exeter and possibly Hereford with just updates on each of the games periodically, much like Sky's Soccer Saturday, just on the radio and broadcast out of the Bristol studios.
I know we moan about the various commentators such as Chris, Vic, Sean etc, personally I find none of them particularly offensive, but all of them offer a much better alternative to a die hard City fan and updates from games such as Knowle West v Clifton Ladies.
Didn't the Cornish liberation lot start blowing up bus stops in protest of being forced to be English or something?

My first memory of following the football on the radio was in the days when GWR provided the Saturday updates, a few years before the BBC took over. The programme provided regular updates from our games, Bristol City's and Rovers'. It was quite listenable...but anything wider than that would lose its appeal, I think. Commentary quality aside, it would be a big step backwards if we lost the level of coverage we now have. The BBC does a massive service to lower league football.
