The official figure (at the time) that evenings was 3,200 Swindon fans in a 12k crowd. On a damp Tuesday November evening as well.

And back then we never stopped singing all game long and celebrated our goal like it was a winning goal.

Legendary night.  I was there too. The numbers who were there have long since grown to about 32,000.  Much like Bob Marley's last concert at the Rainbow in Finsbury Park.

That was a fantastic effort for a Tuesday night considering the distance and it was before the M25 was opened.

True that! it was a very memorable night though with loanee Richard key in goal, who TBF played quite well despite the scoreline.

With Kenny Allen cuptied and Scott Endersby refusing to play we had to draft in Richard Key on loan from Brentford and he played in the 3rd round game vs Sheff Weds which we won and the 4th round at Ipswich.

Our coaches definately went on part of the M25 to the game, it was about 3/4 open at that point, it was very wet and windy IIRC but cleared up near Ipswich.

We were on a private coach which left too early and was parked up in Ipswich by 16.30.

I went up with the supporters club in the huge convoy and we got to the game with about 5 mins to KO due the the heavy London traffic around the M25.

Spent over 2 hours in the Town Centre then finished up in the pub behind the side stand which Town fans had taken over.
