As we are not going away (as in med holiday) or glamping this year due to the unpredictable weather and other logistical issues we decided we'd do some days out etc. These will include Hartlepool away with an overnight hotel and a theme park on the Sunday coming back. Preston away with a few days in that scummy hell hole Blackpool. The other thing I thought might be good is the Eden Project. Anyone got any comments they'd like to share? I thought two days in the area in a guesthouse or hotel to make it worthwhile......
There will be other activities like some decorating and days out but the Eden Project is the one I need some advice about.

go to lancaster while you're up for preston, lovely place. i trust you're staying well away from hartlepool itself? awful town...

Cornwall is lovely, I've been to Falmouth several times and it's lovely. they've got a lovely beach cafe there. not been to Eden Project but i've heard that it's a great day out.

Likely to just book a premier inn and go for some dinner somewhere. Not really interested in Hartlepool itself. |

Would suggest you go to Eden for the afternoon. You will struggle to find enough to do/ look at for a whole day and it's reduced prices in the afternoon with a lot less people there. You could split your day with the Lost gardens of Helligan which isn't to far from the Eden project and in my opinion better.

Like the sound of that. Have an 8 y/o to keep entertained though so he my find TLGOH boring. |

If you have kids forget the Eden...overpriced and they will be bored after an hour.
Looe is my favourite...close to Plymouth or Padstow a bit further North.

Eden has hands on stuff for the kids and Helligan has the jungle which my kids enjoyed. Charlestown with its harbour is really close to the Eden project, been used for lots of film sets like Alice in Wonderland and DrWho along with a few pirate films. A bit further down the coast is Flambards theme park which an 8year old would love, plenty for grown ups too google Flambards, Britain in the blitz and the Victorian Village are brilliant. Hope this helps you choose. |

Have family in Looe and spend a lot of time there, another good place for families with plenty of things to keep everyone happy. |
