Monkey world is my suggestion. Throw that in with a trip to Swanage. Decent day trip Stayed in Bournemouth a few years back and did exactly this. Good day out that.

Went to Longleat last week, first time i've been and really enjoyed it. Loads to see and do. Book online as you get 15% discount as it is quite expensive, but well worth it.

Would suggest you go to Eden for the afternoon. You will struggle to find enough to do/ look at for a whole day and it's reduced prices in the afternoon with a lot less people there. You could split your day with the Lost gardens of Helligan which isn't to far from the Eden project and in my opinion better.
Agree with this, Helligan is beautiful and Eden project is well worth a visit. Disagree that you'll struggle to find enough to do for a full day though. I'd recommend Pembrokeshire, especially around Tenby. Best seaside town I've ever visited.

Our kids quite enjoyed Eden, but I can understand why it's not everyone's cup of tea. Would recommend staying in Mevagissey and exploring the beaches near Gorran Haven.
We tried the Norfolk coast for a change and the beaches are amazing between Cromer and Gt Yarmouth (Gt Yarmouth is a shit hole though). Plenty to do on a 2-3 day break there.

Brown Willy (Bodmin) is popular with women these days. Quite a hike though.

Is that the one that you have to drive round in your car but run the risk of the monkeys jumping on your car ?

Yeah, that's the one. The monkey enclosure is optional. We decided against it, due to the fact every car driving through was covered in monkeys.

Monkey World is pretty much next door to the Bovington tank museum which if you havent been is well worth a visit. Lots to see and do at both and you could split a day in two and do both. Last time I was at Bovington they had a few tanks out on the course which was impressive, they also had the tank simulator rides inside.
