Do you think he has handled the situation badly, or just that the wrong decision was made?
Both.
I think the wrong decision was made in allowing the trial in the first place.
I found his comments today wide of the mark and did nothing to explain what I'd call the lunacy of something so controversial.
In particular this
and it has to be made clear that everybody’s thoughts can only go to the family of those two young boys and their father who was badly injured.
“Tragedy is a word used too often, but this was a tragedy and it can never be changed.
“He’ll have to live with that for the rest of his life.
“Our role comes after Luke has been sentenced."
really grates on me. If he was so concerned with the family of the real victims, he wouldn't have entertained the idea or sought their approval first.
He also goes on to dress it up as caring STFC offering "rehabilitation and integration" allowing McCormick to "..to give something back, to show the tragedies of drink driving. ".
To me playing football on a few grand a week after serving 3 1/2 years does anything but show the tragedies of drink driving.
Stinks of business is business and sod the rest to me.
Clearly not everyone will agree with what is after all my opinion.
(sorry Fola, answering a direct question)
Sorry for having a go at you. You have over 10000 posts so you're entitled to be angry once in a while.

Post count has nothing to do with it. I can be reactionary, but usually temper down after a sleep. This hasn't happened this time.
