Carrick not being in the only real surprise for me. Guess we'll know whether it was the right choice come July, but it's not like having Micah Richards rather than Glen Johnson is going to suddenly make us better than Spain.

Surprised Grant Holt didn't get a go as well.

He's was never ever in a million years going to be selected.

...and that's not me saying that he shouldn't have been considered.

"#HodgsonOut" is trending on twitter.

Nice people have given the team a chance.

I don't know why you all get so worked up about it.

Suprised Carrick isn't in it and Downing is in it. Apart from that not too surprised.

Happy Chamberlain is going though.

Only 4 strikers , one of whom is banned for the first 2 games, makes one up front a certainty.

It's an opportunity wasted in my opinion.

Young can play up top if needed or just behind a striker if playing 4-4-1-1

An opportunity to do what though.

He can only pick from the players he has at his disposal. Alto of people moaning about who he has picked but not too many viable alternatives suggested.

Just because players aren't in doesn't mean they weren't considered.

I personally would have made a couple of different picks but its all opinion at there's no stand out omission.

What really irritates me about the England supporter is that for months and months most fans (and perhaps rightly so) have been going on about England not being good enough to compete at the Euros, seemingly accepting this for the first time in ages... Brilliant.

...and then the squad is announced and it's fucking anarchy  Suicide

As a collective, we have the biggest chip on our shoulders and it's no wonder that the rest of the world can't stand us.

Line up in 1st game:

Hart

Jones
Terry
Cahill
Cole

Parker
Lampard

Walcott
Gerrard
Young

Welbeck

Actually I think Woy will play Barry instead of Lampard.

I think I would struggle to name many players we could have taken that offer anything better or different.

Exactly, most are 'I would've have taken him instead' but none of them are absolutely-what-the-fuck-is-going-on glaring omissions.

Gerrard named captain...

Think Roy is still in love with Liverpool.
