Its sad that over recent years none of the youths taken on have made it and have been released, lets hope these 3 have got something to offer.

We'll probably have to build a team around them given the current finances in football.

All joking aside, if one of the impacts of the financial crisis which will surely follow the COVID crisis is that football clubs go back to making more use of young local talent, that might not be one of the worst outcomes.

From Nixon - not exactly news, but
‘Swindon. Tying up a new deal for Jordan Lyden. Couple of years.’

It wasn't necessarily a joking comment. As you say, given the financial crisis we may well he singing 'one of our own' more often - probably at a computer screen via ifollow in the short term!

Yeah so did I. Not quite sure you could call making 6 appearances as a successful loan spell though.

I don’t think that’s a contract announcement is it? My guess is they’re just going to go through the players that have contributed this season?

It says our first signing 19/20 - so it's just referencing that he was our first signing last year, has progressed this season, had a loan spell and will be back next year. As Quag says, probably going to go through the current squad..

Apparently not, they are owned by Simon Sadler, a finacier, who is not much above Powers level of wealth. His company Segantii look after a fund in excess of $3.3 billion, but that is not his personal wealth. He completed his first year in charge yesterday at Blackpool. https://www.blackpoolgazette.co.uk/sport/football/blackpool-fc/blackpool-owner-simon-sadler-completes-his-first-year-charge-club-2883011
