I guess a bit too early for Adam Johnson, although LMc seemed to be training with us while technically at HM pleasure.
How, were we running training sessions in the nick, that would be a bureaucratic nightmare getting all the players, coaches and cones inside? ?

Wellens suggests there are 15 out of contracts players, and he has offered new deals but wont say who to, not sure why it has to be top secret though, so I'd suggest those being offered new deals:
Vigs - we already know Knoyle Conroy Dunne Henry
Iandolo - to prove himself I expect
Not sure there are many others that would get a new deal, problem is as Wellens says we cant keep having to build a new team every season

Can't understand why he would want to keep Vigs, obviously no other club is interested in our world class keeper, exactly the same as in other transfer windows.

Because he's still pretty young, is in the Chile squad and when you see keepers like the Colchester one, Morecambe's keeper or even the 2 clowns we were left with last season he's actually more than good enough for this level. I'd rather not go into next season relying on 36 year olds in key positions like we did with Matty Taylor and Marc Richards this season.

I read the Adver piece and started thinking about it, then decided that because it's in the Adver it's probably crap... the hack has to put something in and seems to mangle what Wellens says to try and get a few more "aphorisms" btl.

Seems a bit counter productive moaning that nobody wants our contracted players and then saying McGlashan doesn’t score or provide assists - not likely to get other clubs flocking for him.

He’s trying to publicly make people aware that McGlashan is available and I guess the bluntness is partly based on his desperation to get him off the books and his grumpy Mancunian delivery.

I am encouraged that there's a plan. Wellens has a strategy to take us back to League 1, and he articulates it well. So far so good.
Whether it comes off will depend on his ability to deliver on that strategy...an all together different set of competencies. But you have to back him in this. The club's been suffering from a malaise for too long and we're punching below our weight. This could be the game changer that gets us back to our natural level. It's bound to upset a few people along the way, but that's the way it is.

Sadly the cause of the malaise, is the one which got us to Div 4 in the first place... and doesn't really show too many signs of doing much about it. Oh well, the big one tomorrow. "You can stick your fucking clackers up your arse.... sideways."
