Looks like Phil Smith is leaving. Was he out of contract?

Just read that myself.  On one hand it would be a shame to see a loyal servant of the club leave, but on the other hand I can't see him ousting Wes anytime soon.

If he does leave, I wish him the best going forward.

Maybe PDC fancies Leigh Bedwell to be good enough as our reserve keeper.

You expect him to play up front?

Been a good servant for the club and, despite being somewhat of a permanent scapegoat with some fans, is a decent 'keeper. I know I for one will never forget that night at The Valley. All the best Smithy!

He had to move on, the scapegoating got out of hand at some times when he played.  It will do him good as he is good enough to be a first choice at a Lge 2 club, maybe even some lge 1 clubs.

My lad will be disappointed if true, he just started helping with fitc coaching.

I'd have kept him as a #2 if he was happy to take that on. Good keeper when on form and confident, helped us to Wembley twice too.

Sad news about Phil Smith leaving, great servant to the club. I would have kept him as back up to Wes personally.

If Smith is leaving I wish him all the best. He's been a brilliant servant to this club.

I would have thought Mark Scott will be.

With Lanzano still on the books I suppose the club have to stick with what they've got.
