Franchise had 6th biggest average this season in L1 - quite away above 7th highest.
Their average was a little higher than ours - made up by more away fans so they are comfortably supporting a L1 standard as we would be.
I agree though watching today there didn't seem like a lot passion there and most of the plastics probably would rather watch on TV anyway.
Was funny to see the Franchise manager mouthing off to 4th official about the 2nd goal - fuck off you whining Scouser.

I'm not so sure it would. I'm just looking at the averages this year http://stats.football365.com/dom/ENG/D1/attend.html and I can't see many teams we'd have a better average than. I'd like to be wrong but I'm not sure where these fans are going to consistently come from.

Turn it around.  Where have the 11,000 odd watching Doncaster this season come from?  Where did the 16,000 or 17,000 watching Reading this season come from?  They certainly weren't there in the Elm Park days.

Or to answer another way, if a fraction of the 29,000 at Wembley came along more regularly, our crowds would rise significantly.

Another thing.  The high points of the last 15 years have been two promotions from Division Four and two play off failures.  As a fan base, we've had shag all to shout about for the best part of a generation.  And we're still averaging 8,400 at home in the bottom tier.  I think you're underestimating our potential.  Seriously.

And while we're on the subject, this has just been linked on The Washbag's twitter feed.  No idea where it's come from...but it rates our chances of future success well above that of our nearest neighbour!   Wink

Luton will take a good 40k to Wembley, how many York will take I have no idea as they're playing there twice in 8 days...costly to say the least!

They had better hurry up and get their tickets in then.  Only 21,000 sold so far.
