But "Woolwich" is the geographical bit, Arsenal was a referance to it being the works team of the armaments factory.
Therefore, now they have moved and dropped "Woolwich", I would argue that Arsenal has no geographical referance .
Is there not an area in the Borough of Greenwich known as Royal Arsenal? On that basis i would say it does have a georaphical reference, all be it 30 miles down the road, and not forgetting the tube station nect to the Old Highbury, aptly named Arsenal |

I just went on their website and it's curious that their banner says: "IN ADMINISTRATION".
Has any other clubs done this? Are Vale confused? It's not a good thing.
But it is a legal requirement.. |

That makes more sense. Weird, there are plenty in Scotland. St. Johnstone, St. Mirren, Hibernian, Albion Rovers, Rangers and Celtic (who don't officially have 'Glasgow' infront of their name). You Englanders are so unimaginative.  I thought St Johnstone was the former name of Perth when it was capital of Scotland. |

I'm bored and sad so I keep checking the website - They opened block S3 (directly behind the goal) this morning and there's only 2 seats left in this section. S2 is nearly sold out but there's quite a few left in S1. |

But you have to remember that S4 hardly has any seats in it as they took most of them out, I guess due to the potential of fans making a run for it from one end to the other when it's away fans in there (see Oxford at home for details) so it's probably closer to two thirds sold actually.

Very true, in fact Port Vale are the only side in the FL that have no geographical reference in their name.
What about Tranmere Rovers? According to Wikipedia Port Vale are one of the few English league clubs not to be named after a city or town. The name Port Vale exists on maps pre–dating the 1876 formation of the club, and is a reference to a valley of ports on the Trent and Mersey Canal, associated with the city's pottery industry. They have played more seasons in the second tier of English football (41) than any other club who have never reached the top tier.
