Very true, in fact Port Vale are the only side in the FL that have no geographical reference in their name.

And what about "Arsenal", and "Queens Park Rangers"

Queens Park Rangers were named after, erm, Queens Park... and Arsenal were Woolwich Arsenal. Port Vale just came from nowhere.

That makes more sense. Weird, there are plenty in Scotland. St. Johnstone, St. Mirren, Hibernian, Albion Rovers, Rangers and Celtic (who don't officially have 'Glasgow' infront of their name). You Englanders are so unimaginative.

At least we are a town, I think I'm right by saying the town/village of Port Vale does not exist.
You're right. They should really be Burslem Town.

You're right. They should really be Burslem Town.
Their original name for several years was Burslem Port Vale. They were named after the original meeting place called Port Vale House.

I just went on their website and it's curious that their banner says: "IN ADMINISTRATION".
Has any other clubs done this? Are Vale confused? It's not a good thing.

Queens Park Rangers were named after, erm, Queens Park... and Arsenal were Woolwich Arsenal. Port Vale just came from nowhere.
But "Woolwich" is the geographical bit, Arsenal was a referance to it being the works team of the armaments factory. Therefore, now they have moved and dropped "Woolwich", I would argue that Arsenal has no geographical referance .
