If people disagree with a decision what are they supposed to do? booing is the last small piece of power the football fan has. If PDC is going to throw a strop every time someone disagrees with him and threaten take his ball home then fuck it,let him.

So he can't voice an opinion? An opinion that the vast majority seem to agree with.

I'd venture that if booing upsets him then he's got in to the wrong game with this management lark.

Jesus wept Paolo you need to thicken that sexy Italian skin of yours a little.

Paolo comes across as someone that doesn't like to be questioned full stop. I found the booing embarrassing and half the numpties who were booing we're probably doing it because someone near them was. If we were struggling in a relagation place playing shit I could sort of understand it but we are far from that. By Booing Paolo taking off Connell was Benson stood there thinking the fans would rather have Connell on than him ?

This.

To be honest r4e, I think I called it wrong.

It's not the adver article that has hyped it up and taken it out of context, it is this thread that has hyped it up and taken it out of context. In the article PDC is asking for the fans to get behind and support the team on the pitch. Quite how that can be wrong is beyond me.

I think some people have just not read the article and are responding only to comments in this thread.

* Although the BBC version does have a sensationalist headline

Why is this getting so much press, and why is PDC even making reference to it?  We all know that 100 people booing will make more noise than the other 7,900 who are not...so why give these idiots any recognition at all?  They are a small minority.  Hardly worth the airtime, and definitely not reflective of the average fan.

This really annoys me.  PDC should ignore in future.

I think PDC was dissapointed with the reaction of the fans on saturday. It was a derby, and the fans were poor. Really lost heart in the second half for no good reason at all. It seems to be important to him that he manages a club with fans who show passion.

Its not just us though. It is rare you get a set of English fans with a bit of backbone. Fans who have real belief. Most sets of fans behave like petulant teenagers, because their most vocal fans are petulant teenagers.

Don't think there was any problem with Benson coming on, Connell coming off before Murray was what the reaction was all about!

Fact is the team and the manager has had fantastic backing this season....at times when things looked dicey ala Clarke etc.
Now i am not a massive Connell fan but in my opinion and many others the logical substitution was to ditch Murray who was playing very poor and leave on Connell who while not pulling up any trees was miles better on the day.

The fans bood that decision and not the team or PDC.....if you are man enough to take the plaudits you should be man enough to take the odd bit of critism aimed your way.

I never booed by the way and never have or never will  but heard a few round me who did....they pay big money and are more than entitled to voice
there dissaproval...its a modern thing and isn't going to go away, and to be fair to Paolo its like water of a ducks back to him as he is just to profesional at his job to give a damm.

I think people need to actually read the adver article. People should also note the BBC article linked to is an old one (but that should also be read properly instead of just the heading)

The points i made has nothing to do with the adver article, but its obviously took his notice because PDC bangs on about Ritchie only getting a few claps on going off when substituted.

But as you say the Adver article by Paolo is more a rallying cry for support rather than a dig at the fans i reckon.
