Our whole office is going outside on the pavement at 12.00 to participate publicly. Apparently that's what the organisers have asked office workers to do

I'll be doing it. It's going to be a very moving display of rememberance and defiance.

I'll be in the shower. Combining silence and respect with washing.

I agree with a minute's silence for such an event, but such a mark of respect is dilluted when it is overused. It also pisses me off when companies abide by it seemingly only for their own benefit e.g.: there is a notice where I work: "at 12 blah blah blah minutes silence blah blah blah. Whilst we will observe this, please continue to serve customers". Brilliant. :x

I remember going back to the events of 9/11 and the office I was working in at the time. Someone asked if they could put the radio on for the minutes silence !!!
