I know PES edged it on gameplay for a few years, but who wants to play Man Red vs Arsenal Red with van Pervert up front?

I do - its all about gameplay.

Fifa 2012 doesn't seem a significant step forward.  OK, the players fall over in a more realistic fashion, but gameplay/graphics have not stepped forward enough to justify a whole new game.

I know what you mean. It's like keeping up with the jones's each year. If it's around £25 then i might think about it. Torn between PES and FIFA this year.

Anyone know anything on the price tonight??

I played FIFA 2011 the other week, on PS3, and its gurt slow. What's up with that? There hasn't been a decent football game, at least not with the speed and fluidity that makes computer games fun, since PES 2009 or whatever the last one was on the Playstation 2. All the FIFAs and PESs have been clunky and slow since.

Fifa has and always will be the best footballing game.  Played since 1998 when I bought a German version - the commentary was epic.

I can't help feeling that gaming is reaching a ceiling.  F1 2011 is a big step forward from last year's version, but really can't see how they can improve for next year short of selling you a Formula One car.  Fifa 2012 doesn't seem a significant step forward.  OK, the players fall over in a more realistic fashion, but gameplay/graphics have not stepped forward enough to justify a whole new game.

Download an option file from pesgaming.com and install. I have all the real clubs/players from Germany, Spain, Italy and a few others, The Prem and the Championship with all competitions named correctly.

I was a staunch PES fanboy up until 2009, it's awful now. Nowhere near its glory days and Fifa surpasses it at every level.

Takes a hell of a lot of getting used to, to be honest I don't even use the contain buttons, just jockey and switch players frequently. Tackling is a lot more satisfying as you actuallly have to time it.

Thanks, to be honest the old defending was a bit easy, you just held one button.
