Appleton didn't stay too long at clubs like Portsmouth earlier in his managerial career taking better offers when they came along. Oxford was a career rebuild after his early star had waned a lot.

Already happening. Some of them have taken to calling chairman Darryl Eales 'slippery' in the light of a failed takeover and now Appleton looking like going. Not a happy bunch.

Appleton exit confirmed.
It's going to be Cotterill, isn't it? Imagine that.

That'd be ace. From football only good enough for the top flight, to football only good enough for the 1980s.

Teddy Sheringham and Tim Sherwood dream team would be perfect for Poxford. Sure they could do as good a job as Graham Rix and Brian Talbot managed in years gone by.
