Any future for Mr. Benyon at the County Ground? Apparently having quite a good game for Wycombe tonight in the Carling Cup, and would probably get in the side at the moment.
Surely when di Canio joined he must have had a twinge of regret joining Wycombe. Does anyone know if we're still paying any of his wages?

Just scored a penalty....
Well, if we're punishing loyalty by booting out Timlin, why kick out Benyon?
Timlin's treatment sickens me somewhat.... Cannot understand the logic in farming Benyon out on loan, selling Amankwaah and Timlin, and signing Atiku before letting him play for Melksham under 9s.

I hope not...but it is quite possible and a symptom of what happens when you get on a downward slide....we'll be very lucky to get shot of any that di Canio wants out, unless we cut a deal....other managers will sniff the weakness of our position. |

What I can't fathom is quite how Risser or Jonathan Smith are an improvement over Timlin, a player who has stated he wants to play for Swindon. I know football is fickle and loyalty has long left the game, but I genuinely believe he is the sort of player that would help us out this league. Maybe not the most gifted, but a grafter and committed to the cause. I'm not particularly delighted about Amankwaah's imminent departure either, although I imagine he's one of the higher earners. What is frustrating is both will leave and go and play at a decent level, and most probably come back to haunt us. I know someone will probably punch me for this, but Danny Ward just scored.......  Oh well, I suppose we've got Atiku. |

Might simply be that they are on a lot more money that the new players. Seem to recall seeing somewhere that even with all the signings (before Clarke and Garibaldi and Mogadon) that the wage bill was £20k less than last year. Maybe offloading Timlin and Amankwah freed up the extra cash for the final 3, while Benyon's loan takes his wage down to a more manageable level? Guess we'll never know. |

Timlin has been here for years now on good money...can you remember his memorable games,you know like Ward,Cox,Paynter,Austin etc....i can't remember one let alone many like these guys,fact is he has had his chance and its time to move on. Will do him good and i wish him well if he moves on. |

Smith will I think become our best midfielder, I think he has it in him. Apart from his goal and he will admit this there is no evidence to suggest Risser is an improvement on Timlin |

It's all about opinions. My take is that Smith is a tough tackling midfielder who seems to have a knack of scoring (missed so much from our midfield). Risser seems to be a quality player on the ball, but needs to command the midfield a little better. As soon as he gets his confidence up, he will be an excellent midfielder for us. As for Timlin, whilst he a made a slight difference when he came back from Southen, his ability is very limited and at his best, is very average, although good enough for the 4th division. He doesn't have a hope for us.  Well, that's my view anyway  Anyway  |

Timlin has been here long enough and really dine fuck all. One good game in 10 and anonymous the other 9. Its best if he movers on both for us and for him. He isn't going to get any better. Risser is still an unknown. J Smith, i have high hopes for. Mc Cormack looks a good 'un. Timlin isn't needed.
