I was just finishing my final exams at college and my grandad had just died. I didn't go to games between 87 and about 94, either away at college or away working, so this period passed me by without too much hurt.

I was 6, I can just about remember gathering at Faringdon Park and then marching round the town, have an image in my head of going down Commercial Road
my only memory of being at the Sunderland game though is when my Dad started crying at the full time whistle haha
