Tbf, I'd go out there and give 100%. Doesn't mean I'd deserve a contract. I can't see Timlin being more than a bit part player next season (I hope not anyway), so it suprises me we've offered him a contract
Still proven a useful squad player though. If he went, we'd just have to replace him with another squad player.

I'm won't be surprised if we lose Cuthbert and Douglas. We probably can't afford to keep them, and they probably don't want to stay. I was told Cuthbert didn't on the tried and ever ropey grape vine. That was a while ago and thing change. We'll see.
Timlin I'm not sure about. If I were building a team would he be one that I'd build my midfield around? NO. Is he good enough for league 2? YES. Personally I think he needs to leave for his own sanity.
I like Lecs the person (from what I have seen). I'm not 100% convinced about Lecs the centre back. I'd probably offer him a year deal and see.
The size of the rebuilding job needed is scary.

True. Like Batch says though I'd have thought he'd want to leave for the sake of his own career.

Agreed. I'm starting to worry that we'll end up with a squad half made up of Italian youth team players!

Di Canio's already said he'll be getting in mostly English players

There really is no option than to get rid of most of last season's...most of these players were unsuited to Div 3 let alone 4. Hart said someone now has a golden opportunity to fashion a squad....we've got no clue how di Canio will go about it, but it would be a considerable achievement to fashion a winning side immediately.

You make the point well. Not disagreeing it is necessary. It is. But unless we spend a bucket load on proven quality the chances of getting a blend that leads to success would seem remote!
Keeping Ferry, Caddis and Ritchie will be a plus. But we probably need to find a new back 4, 3 strikers and a couple of midfielders MINIMUM!

To be fair, the turnover of players at clubs these days is horrendous.
Managers in the lower leagues have to get used to working with a squad of players where the majority of players come and go inside 2 seasons.

True enough, but I can't remember having started with such a blank (team) sheet of paper. Maybe under Wise.
Perhaps Cuthbert and Douglas will stay and the task will seem a little smaller.

I was about to say it will help form the spine of the team. But 'spine' didn't seem an appropriate word.

Can't believe they've got rid of the player who came second in the Player of the Year voting!
They have been known to get rid of the winner on many occasions!

I did think that we'd try to keep hold of Douglas and Cuthbert, but I won't shed any tears if they both go.
As I said after the Greer transfer last season, it doesnt matter who they sell, its all about the quality of the replacements. So lets hope we've learnt from our mistakes.

According to twitter, Douglas is currently in Australia and has been since before Di Canio joined.
Maybe their waiting till he gets back to discuss contracts etc which is why he hasn't been announced.
