Maybe the link was never Didi applying as manager.

Could have been some crossed wires there. Could make the perfect duo.

of courts it's almost certainly bollocks.

It's a wind up.  Why would Hamann be interested in a coaching role at a Div 4 club?  And how would our finances stretch to employing both di Canio and Hamann?

About as well as when we employed Wise and Poyet. Oh wait, that didn't end well financially. Um, er...

It won't be true. But its a strange wind up. Why would anyone try and have a pop at the Leicester fans by pretending one of their coaches is leaving. I can't see anyone caring that much. Unless...

Processed Beats started the rumour to cause a TEF wind up...

Not so much that but someone who knows a bit about the English lower leagues. This is my only concern with PDC at the moment.

I don't understand why experience of lower leagues needs to be essential? If we can play our way out of the league then all is good. PDC has shown passion and commitment in his playing days so he should bring that as a manager.

Oh jesus. Really? Its all well and good our back room staff having no understanding of this level whatsoever, just as long as they jump around on the touchline and make crazy arm gestures.

I really am gobsmacked by how blind some people are over how risky this appointment is, as well as the infuritating belief that managers should show 'passion'. What the fuck does that even mean? It's not really a swindonfan-only gripe, it's something which plagues the english footballing psyche, and further setting it as highest importance will only hold us back.

Any appointment is risky, no matter the experience. PDC has FIFA coaching badges, and possibly good contacts, so that must stand for something?

At the end of the day, time will tell. One thing for sure, is there seems to be a buzz around which can only be a good thing?

Yup he's fully qualifed in terms of a coach. His knowledge of the English lower leagues won't be great but if he's prepared to watch 50 odd videos of our shite from last season the fair play to him for doing that and it will help him decide who he wants to keep and sign etc. I guess he has Bodin here who has a great knowledge of the club and it's players as well. The contacts thing is a the main one for me. He'll be able to attract players we otherwise wouldn't be able to get in L2.

Agree that all appointments have risk involved, but compared to the alternative names linked the appointment of di canio has so much more involved it could end up verging on the reckless. Though it could, of course, be a masterstroke, seeing rumours that we'll be signing a bunch of lower league italian cast offs does not fill me with much hope. I have terrible visions of this all going horribly horribly wrong, and it concerns me that the majority view seems to be overwhelmingly positive for this appointment

It could. But there is no proof that it will. Equally as you can't see why people are so positive I can't really see why you're so negative.
