Not sure many people know how to use it properly - me included !! There are some good video's online though which talk you through a lot of it - worth a look if you are serious about getting to grips with it  |

The GIMP (honestly, that's what it's called) is a pretty good free alternative to Photoshop if you want to keep the power but don't want to shell out and don't mind a bit of complexity http://www.gimp.org/Otherwise, is Paint Shop Pro still going? |

What OS are you using axs ?
If Win 7 Microsoft Picture Manager is actually OK for basic cropping, resizing etc....
If I need more sophisticated I use Photoshop - I also understand the lower cost version photoshop elements is pretty ok too
I'm on vista, have downloaded a trial copy of elements so will have a play. |

Can't be doing with linking individual photos, but some shots from my holiday are on my Flickr for anyone who cares. As you'll see from some of the zoomed shots, it appears I have dirt in my lens. Seeing as my camera is out of warranty anyway, that DSLR might be purchased sooner rather than later. |

I use Adobe Lightroom which helps you to manage your complete photo collection, edit photo's, print, and create slideshows. Takes a little bit of learning but once you are there its very good. I also have Photoshop CS5 which you can link to from Lightroom but to be honest 90% of the time Lightroom is enough.

Gimp sounds crap but is an excellent free product I can hugely recommend it.

Was a nightmare to shoot that one. all you saw was the wheat moving then suddenly he would jump up to get his bearings and then disappear again!! |
