I'll just reiterate that we've had a fair amount of success giving untried managers their opportunity here...

Absolutely agree. Appointing Di Canio would create a real buzz around the club, plus surely the players would react better to an ex-player who's been there and got the t-shirt, rather some dour old twat with no passion??

Yeah, understand your logic... his personality might be unsuitable for management, nothing to do with inexperience. I think this is what Wray needs to consider.

The thing that worries me about Di Canio is that he comes across a bit selfish and as a total chancer.

I don't understand that.

And people seem to be forgetting that Wise was a bit of a nutter on the pitch, he did all right at management.

If Di Canio is serious about management I can't see why his personality as a player will affect him.

If his will to win is the same then I don't see the problem.

I only say that because I was having a chat about him to Paul McCarthy who works for the NOTW. He was adamant that, at West Ham, he was very selfish, didn't really intergrate with his teammates and refused to play a number of times away from home and also refused to travel with the team when he was only going to be on the bench.

I remember when he got suspended for pushing the ref over, he went AWOL in Rome and Sky were trying to find him to give him an interview, was very comical actually, but raises the point, is he reliable enough to be a manager, some people just don't have the characteristics.

Again just putting over a point, he could be brilliant for us.

Mourhino isn't exactly the most introvert of people either

With Di Canio it would all depend on the assistant he brought in with him.

Well yeah.

But I'm pointing out that people saying he can't manage because of his personality/temperament is just a big bunch of ball bags.
