Apparently some sponsors could pull out if Di Canio gets the job. I cant see the board risking his appointment to be honest.

Boo hoo hoo... I'm sure we'd attract more sponsors with Di Canio involved

Burley for me, though in terms of CV it's not wildly different from Danny Wilson"
Championship promotion & Premiership experience (Barnsley/Ipswich) / mixed experience at a 'sleeping giant' (Wednesday/Soton) / couple of nothing jobs (Hartlepool/Scotland).
Burley's CV edges it with a better Prem experience and turning clubs around, but they're of a similar calibre in my view.

In fact:
Wilson: Managed 841 league games. Win rate 39.2%. LMA Manager of the Year 1997 Burley: Managed 686 league games. Win rate 43.1% LMA Manager of the Year 2000

Bit of a shame, but if they have official policy then so be it. Article reads like there are no hard feelings.

It was Di Canio all the way for me, until I saw that George Burlery is on the list...
Gotta be him hasn't it?

Personally, I think Di Canio is the 'big name' that most fans would've heard of and will great the 'feeling' around the club. Di Canio will more than likely get more fans in to start with.
Whilst Burley is the experienced name but not as big/well known.
It's a difficult one for the club.

Think Burley is pretty well known from his time at Ipswich no?
As mentioned above, if the names hinted at are indeed the candidates, he stands out by a distance.

i'm staggered that people actually see di canio as a good shout for boss.the bloke is a loose cannon who can't control himself, let alone run a football club. he won't get the job.wray cannot be that daft

I think more fans (especially the younger ones) would know of Di Canion rather than Burley?

Fair point Sippo, just saying that its not like Burley is a complete unknown or anything.

Right on...no way Di Canio should be spoken to even. No experience, it would be too much of a risk to take this guy on. And surely we have had enough of dour Scots at this club...surely we can get someone more inspirational than Burley. Ever heard him being interviewed...??
