I'd have the chances of Hoddle as next manager somewhere between zip and zilch.

surely the other way round Reg, possibly one in a zillion ?

Is the academy Hoddle's privately owned business, or is he just running it?

Hoddle was interviewed on the radio before the game and said he had been speaking to Fitton about a couple of players in his academy and he may be taking a look at 1 or 2 of the released players from town, asked if he was coming back as manager he said no he was too busy with the academy and mentioed the coaches who hewlp him out, he also said he speaks to Gorman quite a bit and as he was at the CG and Hoddle only lives about an hour down the road then he thought he would come along and take the game in.

I hope that Fitton has asked Hoddle's advice on potential new managers as well.

Let's put this hoddle as manager rumour to bed now, it's not happening.

Why, because Hoddle said so in an interview?

I doubt it will happen myself, but learned a long time ago that you cannot take what managers and players say to the press as gospel

Exactly BK. Of course Hoddle is going to deny rumours. Personally though I think it's more of a case of people putting 2 and 2 together and coming up with 5. Really can't see Hoddle coming to us with his academy his primary concern.

Hoddle would never come back. I doubt he even has the appetite for club management any more.

I see John Gregory has just left his Turkish club. Could be well worth a punt.

Why the fuck do we need a tie in to Hoddle's academy when we've got links to Man City, Liverpool, Celtic etc?

Fitton plays FM and wants to see whether Sports Interactive would include the Hoddle Academy in the game.

It's worth pointing out that last season Hoddle took over the football operations (as a kind of DoF I guess) of the local Spanish 3rd tier side Jerez Industrial, that the academy  had a link up and investment with. They got relegated, Hoddle's lost his cash, the link-ups been pretty much broken up, with most of the academy lads back in England, (8 have gone back over on loan to JI until the end of the season).

It's possible I guess that GH is looking for a lower league club to have a long term link up with. With the way Fitton's mind works, wanting a stable coaching team of decent quality, I could see him at least putting the offer to him of a similar arrangement to that at JI. Still having a club appointed head coach, but with GH as DoF and sharing Rix / Beasant and Spackman with the academy. (Assuming they're moving the operation back home anyway)

The academy site says they're back in the UK already.
