I always liked the idea of recording the fans singing full pelt and then playing that over the tannoy.
Get on it

welcome shaun.I don't think you do a bad job but I suggest you keep things simple. Make announcements, introduce sponsors-mascots etc and ditch the red army chant. Rockin robin does a great job and the kids love him. Nothing needs to change in his regard. My daughter used to go to games solely to see rockin robin.
The music sounds terrible though the pa system, so whatever is played sounds like shit. The tannoy in the Arkells where i sit is too loud and peircing to the ears. It really is horrible if you are sat near it. Fighting a losing battle in that regard I think

I'm not knocking what you do...far from it. Fair play to you for putting your head above the parapet. I just think that atmosphere creation should be left to the fans in the stands. [/quote] I buy that 100%...A few premiership clubs dont even have a PA guy before kick off as the fans make the atmosphere so electric. Its a tough one, when the results are going your way - the atmos is great, but like last season, things really went from bad to worse. I can even recall the last game of the season when a fan blamed me for "everything." Crap burgers,. expensive matchday ticket, ques for the gents, and to top it all, it was all my fault that we got relegated Took it on the chin of course!! Back on topic, keep the thoughts and ideas coming and I`ll take each and everyone one of them to my next meeting down at the club - which any of you guys are welcome to join in....The clubs biscuits are actually very nice.. S

6)Music - we cant please everyone, so, again, any suggestions, do let me know....
A bit of variety would be nice. Having the same songs played week in week out makes the whole "matchday experience" a bit "meh" for me. Every time I hear Republica a little piece of me dies.

On that point are you free to play anything you like (that is child friendly), or are there licensing/royalty issues? I've no idea what "public broadcast" licensing means and whether it is even applicable to a football club.

I recall a conversation with the club last year, where the FA had done some sort of deal with PRS (Performing rights society) and there was a list of songs that fell under some of blanket deal. PRS had looked at songs played at all league clubs, had drawn up a list and then went to the FA and said if you stick to these most commonly played songs it will only cost you £xxx`s per year....... Frankly, I thought it was pants, but its one thing that I plan to work on for next season...so keep song suggestions coming.... S (Btw, must point out that Im not an employee of STFC and these thoughts are my own, and not that of the club, Rockin Robin etc: etc:...... )

Same here. I'll slash my fucking wrists if we go down I realise that's an emoticon of someone blowing their brains out but hey, I may even do that if we go down...there's no way of telling. It won't be pretty either way I'm interested in knowing how this went

The one thing that was good from last year were the groundsmen, they are great, so entertaining and keep the grass look so good. The best groundsman is that tall bloke with a long fork.

Relegation was such a painfully slow process that that apathy had long since taken over by the time it was confirmed. So instead of slashing my wrists I just went...'Meh!' Probably a better option than wrist slashing in hindsight.

I thought the girl singing "Wise men say" before kick off worked well, if we were up there challenging last season , we might of got all 3 stands joining in(well some of the side stands).

Every time I hear Republica a little piece of me dies.
Every time I hear the Bryan Adam's song 'We're Gonna Win' I know we're not. We played it most of last season and we got relegated, and the last time they regularly played it 4 years ago... yes we got relegated !! That song should be banned...End of !!! Saying that I don't mind 'Summer Of 69' !!
