The point of all this seems to be for Charlie to play as many games as possible for the Town before departing at the end of the month.

Suspect that Cox was in the same position. The only difference between the two, from reports I have read on here and elsewhere, is that Cox tried his hardest for the Town before departing. I suspect that Wilson and Fitton hoped for the same from Austin and that he would help the Town in some crucial matches against fellow relegation candidates Yeovil, Brizzle and Tranmere.

Austin, however, seems to have had a severe 'dip in form' since speculation about his departure has come to light. Consequently the team hasn't done well (because we rely on his goals too much), the fans have turned on him and we all just want it over and to move on.

The thing that disappointed me most about the article was the bit about LJF being sought by Hibernian. Think like many, we hoped that he would make the grade here and become a Swindon legend, as his attitude, committment to the club etc have been exemplary.

Not really. He diverted the question. He did not explicitly say he wasn't going to sign him. He said he had spoken about him along with a lot of other names.

He needs a move. We need him to move. Great attitude (at least, he said the right things when he was in and out of the side) but really, we need to aim higher and Saturday was simply unacceptable.

Apparently Charlie has just been woken up in the middle of the night and driven off for a medical, but he's not allowed to know which club it's for.

If he went to the premiership he would be making a mistake. He'd hardly get a game. Especially after his performances over the last few weeks.

Over the last few weeks, yes I do. He has been off the ball. Championship would be better for him. More game time etc.

we all know that a Charlie on fire is good enough for an average Prem team. There are plenty of lesser strikers playing in the Prem than him.
Form is temporary - class is permanent. The way he engineered that chance that hit the bar late on last night, out of absolutely nothing, shows that whilst he may be out of form, he is still class - if that had gone in everyone would have been purring about how good he is again. Even Wayne Rooney fucks up penalties sometimes.......

i think he should aim as high as he can - and if that height right now is Backpool, then he should go there - only concern would be him going to a side that is potentially losing Charlie Adam - for our Charlie's sake I hope Holloway has priced him out of a move, otherwise CA in their side will be a little bit like Dossevi in ours - trying to make a silk purse from a sows ear with very little being created for you to feed off, when you arent quite at the level you need to be to create it yourself against the class of defenders

1.5 million and Brett Ormerod for CA I reckon will be the offer on the table.

good rumour.........

One question, has anyone considered that omerod might consider himself to be a little better than a relegation dogfight in league one?
