This really is the kind of game that could go either way. Form would suggest we'll struggle to do any better than a 2 goal defeat, but they have a couple of important players out and we have a point to prove - if the players have anything about them they'll be desperate to put a shift in today.

It's not likely to go our way I'll admit - I'm expecting us to lose. But it's the kind of fixture that can throw up a surprise.

Would love to see us pull off a surprise win, but sadly can't see it.  3-1 to Charlton.  Could also be the last time we get to see Charlie play in a Town shirt if someone comes in with a decent bid this week.

I think back to Jan 98, when we played at Gresty Road on the box....we were truly terrible, not sure we had a shot on target all game...McMahon persisted with 5 at the back.

We were about 8 games into a run which saw one win, albeit 4-1 v Scum...and maybe a couple of draws....fortunately we'd had a good start, and a scratchy win v Stoke with a Mark Robinson goal just about kept us up.

We've never really recovered form that level of shitness, dread and despair, just the occasional blip, and it's back in full swing now.

Well if you could, it wouldn't be a surprise would it? Hmmm
