According to a survey, Swindon is Britain’s most ignorant town.
In a poll carried out for the BBC TV series QI, the town came an embarrassing last place.
Its residents struggled to name the colour of oranges, were confused over the number of legs an octopus has and were unsure when Advent begins. I wonder if they only quizzed those that visit the thisis site. Without reading into it, were they specific on the type of Orange? I mean it's like the crossing the bridge bit on Monty Python's Holy Grail. Are we talking under perfect lighting conditions or in the dark. Were they looking for zero as the asnwer to Octopus leg count? and were questioned people able to ask for clarification on whether the questioner undertsood the implications of their own question?

Exactly. I'm pretty sure that QI claimed oranges are in fact green. So if we take green as the right answer, and everybody in Swindon says orange, that makes Swindon full of ignorant idiots. Oh, and I have never lived in Swindon. |
