I went to the Marine game and it was a deserved but nervy win. Charlie Henry's lad was my MOM - he was immense at the back. First half was Marine. Second half was Eastwood. There wasn't a great atmosphere. Eastwood must have had about 150 there and tried to create a bit of atmosphere. Total gate was probably 800 ish.
I thought the atmosphere was a bit disappointing, aside from the Eastwood supporters, there wasn't really any noise apart from the last 10 minutes or so when the home crowd started a bit. I wondered if maybe it was because the majority of people there don't really follow Supermarine. Everyone queuing in front of me to get in was showing their Swindon Town season tickets. I enjoyed it and was really pleased to see them win, but I didn't find myself getting in to the game and feeling annoyed at decisions like I do at a Town game.

Rewind 6 months, and there were plenty of posts on here lamenting the fact that our 32,000 following at Wembley was padded out by folk who were not in the habit of going very often, and how that contributed to the flat atmosphere. I imagine there are few Marine fans thinking the same this evening.

While we're talking of non-league, are Dover now the biggest team in Kent?
When weren't they?

Imagine they are grateful of the gate receipts tho Ardiles. If only they get a few Town supporters going regularly when Town are away they'll be happy. If the atmosphere at Marine is anything like a Poole game FA Cup aside, generally there isn't a lot of singing going on

Mark Scott on loan to Marine from town has excellent, two top saves to keep them ahead, not the most commanding in the box though. Supermarine were very lucky not to concede, Eastwood hit the inside of the post in stoppage time.
I agree with joteddyred but good support from Eastwood, their end was full, interesting that they swap ends at half time aswell as the players. Was anyone stood near the person who let the firework off during the match?

marine have a tiny fan base.struggle to get 200 out there most weeks. what they have acheived in the last couple of years and into this season is absolutely superb. i go and watch them a few times a season(missed today) and apart from a couple of loyals who occasionally shout out "come on marine". that's about as much as you hear there.

Just back from the Argyle game (live in Exeter) and have to say that was great game which we dominated from start to finish. The back 5 looked very strong with Lecs keeping Wright Phillips quiet and Morrison winning everything chucked up to Fallon. As said, Smith had nothing much to do. Poor home support but a few lively ones were good value.

What a great day for Swindon Football, personally i do not want us to draw Marine in the cup it would be better if we both played at home STFC to a easy draw and Marine at home to Poxford played at the CG on different days and then we could follow both teams
