Met SSP in a pub in Barnes last night - spoke fondly of his time at the County Ground, mentioned that when he was on the bench for Walsall at his last visit to the CG and he begged Chris Hutchings to give him ten minutes so he could acknowledge the fans etc but was turned down.

Now at St Johnstone where he said 'The Beast' didn't give him a kick when they played Aberdeen recently. Seems over his injuries and quite up for the SPL. It's comforting when someone who was a a Swindon legend is in no way a twat just pretty down to earth

I just wish SSP good things, I've felt for him over the past 4/5 seasons. Met him last year at a Swindon game (forget which one) which he came to, thoroughly nice chap.

I had the pleasure of meeting SSP a few times, and he's a top bloke.

Honest footballer with no little skill.  He was a ray of sunshine in our dismal years.  I'd like to shake him by the hand sometime.   One of the few players that I always look out for.

How long were you banned for?

I met Parkin briefly and he always seemed to have time for the fans, same as Miglioranzi.

I can only echo the positive comments about Sam Parkin and as Sonicjinx said Miglioranzi to.

That team of Evans, Gurney, Ifil, Heywood, Duke, Igoe, Hewlett, Miglioranzi, Howard, Parkin, Fallon/Mooney is my favourite of all the years supporting Town (since '98).  Maybe I'm looking at the past through rose-tinted spectacles, but it's also probably the best we've had in that time.

Parkin was an absolutely hero and I'll always remember him fondly!  Still dream of seeing him back in a Town shirt, although I fear a return would only be a disappointment...

I dont know.. some players seem to play well in certain sorroundings, like darren byfield. Parkin and Austin upfront would certainly get bums on sets though!

A man can only dream...
