we look better than norwich for their first game:

Promoted Norwich may be without Grant Holt for the opening match of the new Football League season on Friday.

The striker is due to stand trial in Shropshire on Friday charged with a motoring offence, and may not make it back to Carrow Road for the kick-off.

Failed to turn up.

Well they know where he'll be tomorrow. It would be funny if the court get a warrant out for his arrest for failing to turn up and nick him before the game.

Oh, didn't know that.

Hope they nick him tonight then, but knowing the courts in this country it'll take them about a month to issue a warrant.

I don't think he HAD to turn up for it it was one of those cases where the sentence can be passed without him present.

The special reason being "Sorry mate, I had to go to work". That wouldn't wash in any normal profession but I can see him getting away with it.

I read it that they were trying to spin some bullshit to get his sentance reduced. Nothing to do with him failing to attend the hearing.
