Whilst on my lunch break i was bored so was scowering some websites and came accross this interesting fact...
Did you know that if you lined up the whole population of china and got them to walk past you, the line would never end due to the high rate of reproduction
How cool is that?

Did you know that the word Soccer is a shortened form of Association (as in Association Football) and was originally used in England first?

The shortest county boundary in England exists between Northamptonshire and Lincolnshire. It is 20 yards long.

That's got to be as accurate as your spelling.

serious question here, what feeling do you (and others) get when you become gramar police? As i doubt its to genuinly help people become better spellers. I see it everyday on facebook and other forums respectivly, and i just don't get it. Im writing on a forum, not a letter to the alan sugar asking to be his foot stool

In the original laws of the game it was legal for all players to catch the ball in their hands. Thierry Henry still played to the original laws. Well worth spending some time reading up on the history and origins of the game if you're bored. Lots of interesting stuff.

Quite a basic fact, but a nice one nonetheless. Aluminum was actually the second name we gave to Aluminium, which was itself, surprisingly, the third name. Aluminium stuck because scientists around the time preferred sticking to the ium already used in other elements such as sodium, iridium, calcium and what not. (The first name was Alumium.)
Eighty odd years ago, Americans moved back to Aluminum, from Aluminium and only a few decades ago did the element officially become named, world-wide (for want of a better way of putting it) Aluminium.
