I think the best we can do is that Play-Offs again.

You see, I'd be pretty fucked off if Fitton came out with that Cool

He is right though isn't he? I will be amazed if next seasons point totals reach the same as this years

Precisely DRS, if we get the same amount of points again it should be more than enough for top two, I think that was one of the points he was trying to make.

What a difference a few weeks make eh? One would argue our squad is a lot stronger overall than last season.

And I would agree.

Good versatility in the squad means high quality cover in most areas and hopefully the ability to make game changing substitutions - something that we couldnt really do last season as by and large our 1st team were quite a bit better than the squad players.

I would agree with that, we have a lot more depth in our squad this season and a lot more quality where as last year past our starting XI our bench was not very awe inspiring. This year there is so much competition for places it can only be a good thing.

That's what Ferry wanted last season when he joined on loan, promotion by the time his loan ended.

I couldn't agree more.  What I don't understand is how many people on here seemed to be panicking a month or so ago - every pre-season requires a bit of patience, but as football fans we never seem to learn and are very quick to press the obligatory panic button.

I like Fitton...we think exactly the same as he does with our chances yet he will say it in a buisness like way...talking a good game is what all good chairmen do.
As for Southampton if they lose Lambert they are fucked....for me even with him they wont get in the top two......Huddersfield will win it and Wednesday,Charlton,us and the usual suprise team will fight it out for the other places.

Charlton will not even threaten the play offs. Soton with or without Lambert are the firm favourites and rightly so. The dark horses for me will be Brentford - putting together a decent side. Huddersfield have got to be there or therabouts. As for Wednesday, I'm not so sure.

Fitton is the sort of bloke you could be sat in the boozer chatting to over a pint and not even realise he was minted.

A down earth likeable bloke, cant say that about many Chairman these days.

Lambert isnt even their best player, Lallana makes Saints tick.  Saints have strength in depth and have brought in a lot of good Championship quality players since the January transfer window, the league is theirs for the taking.

Lallana isn't a striker.
