I think there's a fine line between too serious and not serious enough.. At the one I usually go to you can win free booze, and the prospect of free booze is not something I take lightly. Some people do get hilariously arsey though. There was a team that used to go who'd write down their answers separately and then show each other, to avoid saying the answers out loud and having people overhear them. They never won either.

I never take quizzes seriously  Wink

Like anything, the more you practise, the better you get.  Mental preparation is also important, as is teamwork.

If possible moderate exercise beforehand, followed by steady drinking is the way forward....having one person in the team who doesn't drink, is a help....they'll give away their booze winnings  Smiley

Seating arrangements are also important...you don't want people to feel excluded....lighting and speaker location should be taken into account.

Always be positive, it's amazing what a collective effort can drag out from the back of someone's mind, by discussion....and key is having a mix of some young guns and old farts, which I discovered when quizzing with my lads.

There's an element of sacrifice there too Reg. We are young-ish (average age about STFC's pre-Wigan) and we usually falter at picture rounds, where we're asked to name someone who was in TOWIE or the X factor. You could recruit someone who knows that kind of stuff, but would you really want to spend an evening with them? Wink

Bettws isn't that far from me though, You'd definitely be welcome in my team Smiley

When you donate stuff to the charity shop, then next time you drive by they've used one of your old outfits on the mannequin in the window!
Not sure why but this made me feel like I should be a stylist for vogue or something?!  Embarrassed

Pfft you don't know who's on my team.

Gillingham completely bottling their promotion chances is fairly amusing.

South Africa Rugby have appointed a new coaching team. This isn't usually amusing news, but their new backs coach is a gentleman who goes straight in at #1 in the Tokyo Sexwhale funny names hall of fame.

I give you, Mzwandile Wanky Stick http://www.sarugby.co.za/playerprofile.aspx?id=25121

Still up there as one of the greatest ever comebacks and one of the best away games I've ever been to.

Worst away pub ever. Complete shithole - but as we were in the Zulus pub until we knew better it was preferable.

I have my old man to thank as the other 4 of us wanted to go at 4 - 1 and he kept saying we will get something out of this, certainly was a bit tense outside they were baying for blood.

We should definitely get someone from the TEF to ask the Manchester Airport sniffer dogs what is their favourite cheese.

I would presume you could take a selection of bags each containing a different cheese?
