I get why people dislike it but, although I should, I really really enjoy it. I still think their cheap car challenges are some of the most enjoyable telly I've ever seen.

Less scripted stuff would be nice though, it's quite obvious when they're not ad-libbing.

They're trying far too hard to be funny these days.

Their challenges used to be novel and interesting but now it's just too scripted and set up.

They're trying far too hard to be funny these days.

Spot on

It's becoming a lot less about motoring reviews and a lot more about 3 blokes dicking about in cars, but that's what makes it watchable.

Would people rather the old days of Tiff Needell and Quentin Willson?

Even some of new Top Gear's earlier series had 'proper' reviews to some extent- they could still make them enjoyable.

My thoughts exactly. Don't mind that a lot of it is scripted, plenty of comedy is.

Would rather watch the challenge stuff than a review of car costing £50K which I won't ever own.

No, of course not.

But as you said it's 3 blokes dicking about in cars - accept it for what it is although it has become very samey and quite obvious that they are running out of new ideas. The thing a few weeks back with the 80's hot hatches was painful to watch.

A 6 hour delay in the Daytona 500 led Fox Sports to repeat last year's race in the interim. It seems a lot of Americans thought it was live and tweeted as such... including Fox News even though it was being aired on their own network.

And whilst on the subject it's about time the Beeb pulled the plug on Top Gear. James May is the only one with a modicum of self dignity left.

Agreed it looks a bit tired these days but the BBC will not can it as it is a big seller overseas and has a very large following.

Also

Like Brooklyn Nine Nine (and the only time I liked a Chelsea - Peretti that is)!
