What would be the point of a speed limit if it is not enforced?

I'm not disagreeing with speed limits. I freely admit I should have been going slowly but it isn't stop it being a trivial thing that annoys! That said we living in a nanny state which tries to restrict anything as soon as it becomes mainstream. 70mph on a motorway at 4am is too slow, but 70mph on a motorway in the driving rain and heavy traffic is not safe.

Haha well you got a bite!! I can't complain too bitterly - I got £190 on Tuesday for taking my housing company to the small claims court for clamping my car in my own parking space!!

On a par with that was getting back from a completely insipid play-off final to find my car had been ticketed outside my own house. My own fault, didn't display residents' parking permit, but it really was one of those "Well thanks a fucking lot" moments

Yeah its one of those really annoying things but at the end of the day got to accept it as my fault even the mobile camera was in a pain in the arse place i.e no time to react.
Also annoying as i'm getting a new motor at the end of the month which means conversations with insurance companies! i'm guessing i don't have to say anything until i get the points on my license. if i can string the paperwork out for a few weeks then it means i can get the insurance through before it hits my license!

Do you have the option of doing one of those speed awareness courses instead of taking the points? I think it'd still count in terms of having to declare it for insurance purposes, but if you get the option, worth keeping the points off the licence

I don't understand / get mildly annoyed when my Dad refuses to listen to me even though it's obvious he should.
I've been telling him for ages he needed specs but he wouldn't wear it even though it was clear he needed an eye test.
The penny finally dropped when he attempted to read a fast food order out to a bin which he'd mistaken for a mic / speaker at a McDonalds drive through.
I nearly Mcshat myself when he finally agreed to go to the opticians.
