Yes, a team does need time to gel. You are saying that it is bullshit to say that a team needs time to gel and then you have gone on to use examples of individual players coming in and doing well. We have brought in six players over the summer - half a team. You are saying that Wilson should just be able to 'plug them in' and they immediately have an understanding with each other and know each others' game and the system. To me that is bull shit. That's fair enough, it is your opinion and I know better than to try to change it. |

i'll explain why i think it's bullshit.
pro footballers will be fully aware of what individuals have to do in each position.they will have had it drummed into them for years during their football education.
you do certain things in certain areas.the ball gets put into a certain area and a player will have to react in a certain way.
all of that is regardless of which team they play for.players should be able to slot in pretty quicklyand do the right things from the off.plenty do and always have.
of course tactics can differ from team to team, but that should not make any difference in a team gelling.that would have been dealt with in training anyway.in our case i dont think gelling is an excuse that can be used at all.

So why do you think we have got off to what is let's face it, a pretty shitty start?
Are the players not good enough? is the manager is not good enough? I don't believe that to be the case. What do you put it down to?
