A decent ceiling fan makes a lot of difference. We had a cheap one initially which circulated warm air and defeated the object. Spent £100 on a better one and it was money well spent. Even on the hottest nights, the room has been okay. |

We asked for money as we had everything for our home we needed. We put money towards a kitchen cabinet that cost nearly £1k and put some towards honeymoon activities.

A few years ago I spent only £150-odd on a portable air-con unit, and I have never regretted it for 1 second. It probably only gets used maybe 10 - 15 days per year, but even if it was 1 day I'd still be glad to have it. Personally I'm fine with the cold but can't deal with the heat - not indoors anyway. Brilliant at night aswell - it feels good when others are in slow motion the next day & can't stop yawning etc, it reminds me what a good little investment that was. |

since moving here, this flat is constantly hot. the fact that the heating was on when we moved in can't have helped but regardless of what we try, the temperature is just constantly around the 27-28C mark in the living room. it's genuinely like a sauna at times, you just sweat profusely if you so much as lift a finger.
