Booking flights to SA for next year, which will be give or take a few days two years from our last visit. 2023 £1800 for two return flights in cattle class with BA including extra legroom and sitting together. 2025 £3304. Well Mr. Spanish owned national airline please accept my Anglo Saxon two finger salute.
I’m booking with the Luftwaffe. 🤣🤣 saving about £1000. Still more than 2023 but how the fuck do they justify that kind of money?

Flight prices haven't really kept pace with inflation over the years, until the post Covid era. Flights to the USA from the UK were the same in 2016 as when I flew in 1995. They've quickly risen since then though. Compare flight prices, per mile, with rail travel in the UK.

SA flights are a nightmare after SA Airlines went bust as there are no UK routes at present with them. They are back now and hopefully back in the UK soon as the £ over there is insane but the flights are what is killing it

Saw some dick on a motorbike on the M4 between jct 16 and 15 East bound earlier today. Approached behind at well over a ton then dropped both his hands down by his side at about 90mph. Dropped to 80mph then proceeded to pull wheelies. Right in front of one of the traffic cameras Wasn't anyone on here was it?

I know this conversation has been done to death but driving standards in general seem to have plummeted and people seem to be way more aggressive. Just last week my wife was coming home and was indicating right to pull into an estate, on a smallish 30mph road and the car behind overtook her on the right instead of waiting the 5 seconds for her to complete her manouvre. People overtaking on roundabouts seems to be standard fare here also. I read with sadness the case where some fella had come back from holiday, was over the limit after having drinks on the plane and then filmed himself on the motorway doing 140 mph. The silly cunt then killed 2 people because of his selfish, arrogant behaviour. Always seems to be the innocents that suffer unfortunately.

Everything in SA is half the price of the U.K. but, as you say the flights are nightmare. We’re going via Frankfurt with an hours transit lounge shuffle and then direct to Cape Town arriving about 2-3 hrs max later than the BA departure. I can handle that to save £1k over both legs.

Don't blame you. That's a good saving for fairly little inconvenience.

Getting results of my biopsy tomorrow. Thought it’d be via letter, but I’ve been called in.

Fingers crossed all is ok. Think they always like to give the biopsy results face to face rather than via post (well that's my experience anyway). No need to worry unduly tonight - Hopefully you won't have to tomorrow either!
