Who says they’re far right? Who says it’s an isolated incident? What has been disinformed?

The Police reported it was far right groups who had organised online through several messaging apps/social media, and this wasn't the first time.

The "spark" was an isolated incident - a man deciding to stab small children is not something you hear about very often.

The misinformation was related to the rumours used online to spark the riot, that the stabbing was carried out by some sort of recent foreigner/immigrant - one of the places attacked during the riot was an immigration centre that was fire bombed.

And now all the media report on is the riot. Nothing about the knife attack. People angry about small children being stabbed in the street are automatically referred to as ‘right wing racists’ to deflect.

The world’s gone mad and nobody seems to care.

And it wasn’t misinformation. The attacker is Algerian.

But has lived in Ireland for over 20 years I believe.

Regardless - on what planet is the right reaction to a horrific event, to plan to trash the City?  That is not a protest against anything, it was just a chance to have a fight with the authorities and have a go at killing a few foreigners (why else do you firebomb somewhere?).

It is entirely possible for two things to be true at the same time you know - that both incidents are shameful acts of human evil.

As someone living abroad, I can find reporting on both incidents, so I am not sure why you would say all that is being reported is the riot?  What I would imagine is the riot gets more coverage because it is not a one off and has a very high probability of happening again.

Because that is precisely who they were.  There is a trail of messaging left behind between people and groups that shows who organised it.  It wasn't just a bunch of angry citizens who were moved to turn up and protest, it was an organised (very quickly) group that were already primed to move and simply needed a "reason".  The people involved have recent history.

And the bloke who stepped in to stop the attack was Brazilian? Neither of which is particularly relevant.

Even last evening as it was all kicking off various journalists and groups which monitor far right activity on Telegraph were noting that it had been in the post for quite some time.

But as Trump likes  to say, good guys on both sides and all that  Roll Eyes

If there is something to be discussed about this, and a plethora of other attacks which seem to be happening with ever greater regularity is the apparent deterioration in many peoples mental health, the limited resource there is to address this and often the detrimental effect conspiracy and radicalisation via the internet allow nefarious people to use conspiracy and rumour to prey on such poor sods for their own nasty ideological beliefs.

It’s even worse if the attacker has lived in Ireland for 20 years.

I lived there for over 10 years and I despair.

Fucking apologists.

Apologists for what?

I'm confused, who are Apologists? about what?

Two separate events occurred in Dublin, both were horrific and should be condemned.  The stabbing needs investigating to determine the reason why someone would do such a thing, and the individual should be punished accordingly.

The groups that organised for a good old fight should also be punished for causing damage and threatening people with violence.  I repeat, it was not some sort of peaceful gathering to vent frustration and protest that got out of hand, it was an intentional event.  People grouped together to cause mayhem, that was their plan.

Richmond sausages and the insistence from my other half that they are decent

As a general rule I prefer cheaper sausages. But not Richmond. They are gross.

As with a lot of these incidents I do try and not jump to any conclusions on these kind of things. I've been aware than Ireland has been 'simmering' over immigration and a lot of the locals in Dublin as well as other parts of the country are particularly aggressive to the asylum seekers who are currently in hotels.

As others have said both events yesterday were shocking and shouldn't be condoned. Out of 'interest' I did have a flick through twitter and looked at the Dublin # last night. In the 'top' section was about 10 tweets from a very angry woman called Ashlea Simon, who appears to be part of 'Britain First' politically. Funnily enough I had been watching the RTE news who had categorically denied that the army had been sent into Dublin and it was fake videos of some footage taken historically. Needless to say one of her tweets was that very picture of the Army. Twitter is full of some very angry, very hate-filled people.

I'm concerned you haven't been taking your sausages seriously. I'd imagine up north there are some pretty good bangers.
