The Dutch have a very liberal attitude to fireworks. When I was in Amsterdam for New Years eve about 15 years ago there were kids holding giant (lit) roman candles and guys launching rockets out of their backpacks. It also seemed to be a local amusement to chuck a lit firework out of their balcony and onto the street below and watch people scatter (tourists) or brazenly walk past (Dutch). And I'm pretty sure it wasn't just the magic mushrooms making me see those things. |
