Missus picked a fight with a pot hole this morning and lost.
Anyone got any experience claiming from councils?
Not sure if its still the case, but when I worked in Local Authority if the claim was below about £500 they tended to pay out without contesting as it was cheaper than the staff time of arguing/investigating, that was pre austerity though so may be different now. They often claim they do not know anything about it, it is worth going back and seeing if they have marked it in any way (spraypaint etc) to prove otherwise
In many Authorities you can report online so probably worth making sure that you or someone else submits a report before you submit any claim.

The 'England Band' being included in the fake crowd noise for the game at Wembley tonight. Surely we've suffered enough?
Edit: also the penalty. What the fuck was that?

I know the story has to be told but I am not sure this is a good idea, it will be incredibly difficult viewing to say the least. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-54542956

Not sure the BBC should be the ones telling it, that's for sure.

Are they going to miss out the bit where they swept that sort of thing under the carpet for years?

in France, police are investigation politcians over accusations of them not doing their job properly to help keep people safe.
In Britain, politicians are openly handing enormous contracts paid by tax-payer's money to their mates, without tender, and there's not a peep from the authorities.

No need for such cynicism, I'm sure the Prime Minister's official Anti-Corruption Champion would be all over it if there was a problem. That's John Penrose MP, Dido Harding's husband #ToryCorruption

My mother in law just opened a box of Roses (which are now ludicrously wrapped) and I took a 'golden barrel' as I am a big fan of caramel. It was delicious so I took another which was called 'caramel' only to be massively disappointed as it was a toffee. Why wouldn't they call it toffee?

I can top that. I had a steak and ale pie today that turned out to be steak and kidney. I fucking hate kidney.

I love both steak and ale and steak and kidney pie! For me it would be the same if it was steak and mushroom, then I can imagine your disappointment!

I was sent a video for work yesterday of a flat where the family have obviously done a runner, leaving most of their furniture behind. In the main bedroom was a double matress on pallets, with two childs beds crammed in either side. I hope then went somewhere better but I somehow doubt it.

I was woken up by rain this morning. Not thunder, or strong winds - just rain.
It was as though it was not just falling under the force of gravity, but was being forced down at pressure. Kind of like a power shower. Twas fucking insane. It does get 'very' rainy here when it rains but this was something else.
