For a while now every time i enter or leave a shop its sets the alarms off. I've narrowed it down to being my wallet but all i have in there is some money, a couple of cards and a bunch of receipts.
Short of some trial and error i can't for the life of me figure out whats causing it

my plates and screws on my radius set them off sometimes - are you bionic?

If only it was that cool.

It's something in my wallet, that's for sure. If I take my wallet out and lift it over the alarms, looking like a dick in the process, they don't go off.

Just a thought, do you have a security tag in your wallet?

Smiley

Actually only half joking, is there a label in the wallet, does it have any metal on it..?

Guess its find one that goes off, empty wallet, test, then add things back in ...

Do you hold the wallet up with the hand that has your watch on?

On a similar note, I bought some steaks from M&S and they didn't set the alarm off. Went into Boots and set it off. The staff their didn't even batter an eyelid on the way in or way out...

Battered eyelid, sounds horrible.  Even the Sweaties might pass on that.

Have you never tried battered eyelids. Goes well with steak.

Those alarms are set off by RFID tags. Could be a contactless card, work access pass etc.

If it is the bank card then there's something wrong with it, it shouldn't be operating on the same frequency to set off an alarm.
