The previous tenant of my flat appears to have got into plenty of debt with nearly everyone, resulting in regular and increasingly urgent letters. Got the first bailiff visit today, suspect it won't be the last.l

The previous tennants, and the ones before those at our place clearly haven't changed their address with a lot of people... I had started doing the nice thing of writing on the envelope 'not at this address' and re-posting them. Now I just put it straight in the recycling bin.

We get the same, some bloke clearly had his business registered at the home address and we get fuckloads of HMRC stuff in particular. We open it and have a good read though.

Bet you felt smug telling them to piss off as they dont live there though Smiley

They came round during the day so I was at work and just found a calling card. Would like to ignore them but I'll only come home one day and find an angry bailiff trying to break my door down.

NPower.  Absolutely fucking useless.

We left them in May, but an incorrect gas reading was given to them.  It was sorted by our new provider First Utility in August and since then I've been trying to get a final bill from NPower and the money they owe us.  I've rung numerous times and inept customer staff have continually failed to raise the dispute properly.  It was finally raised properly at the beginning of November and I was told to allow 30 working days.  I've just rung to chase and apparently I was given incorrect information and it's actually 90 days, so the end date for resolution is 16th March 2015.  The woman I spoke to has now raised a formal complaint on my behalf, but it's no wonder they featured on Watchdog last night for the highest number of complaints.  Their service is appalling.

Yep. Had a similar experience with them. They ended up writing a £300 odd bill in the end after I threatened to sue them for the time spent dealing with the complaint. Try emailing the CEO and copy in watchdog, you wont get a response from him, obviously, but you'll find a higher class of idiot than the usual morons pick it up and sort it out fairly sharpish.

Mind you, frying pan and fire springs to mind with First Utility - check out their reviews  Doh

Experience has taught me that there is an inverse correlation between cheapest utility provider and levels of customer service.

I was once a customer of nPower and will never give them my custom again.

I'm with npower and am happy with them. I just change tariffs periodically and I find it a breeze.
My mum had problems with them after switching to another supplier and took ages to get money back she was owed. They did compensate her though and were very apologetic.

It was getting money back that was the problem for me arriba, took about 4 months and a lot of calls. One customer they won't have back.

We're with npower, last winter they raised our dual fuel bill to a ridiculous amount, saying that we owed them a couple of hundred quid. Several phone calls later they agree to lower the amount to about half the difference from the original figure, and by the summer we were 150 quid in credit. Got that back quick sharp, lowered the amount we pay again and we're still in credit. An absolute ball ache trying to get our money back from them though!

I was £850 in credit with eon, and when I put in my meter reading it said I owed them £350. That was a happy day.
