And said car released from the side road normally proceeds at 25mph.  Suicide

Drivers who stop suddenly to let other cars out of side roads. If you're moving slowly then fine - I have no problem with courtesy but to stop suddenly from 30/40 mph to let someone out is fucking stupid.

Ha, that reminds me of a time I was driving a van in central London. Stop/start traffic (I know, shocker), and a police car has his blues and right indicator on, obviously trying to get out of a side road in a hurry-other side of the road was clear so he was obviously trying to get out and swing right. I check me mirrors and see the bloke behind me has left miles and miles of room so stick the van in reverse for a second or two to let him know I'm coming backwards, then pull back a bit to let the rozzer out (what with me being a nice bloke and all). Obviously I was super super careful not to careen into the car behind- I was driving a fooking rental for christ's sake!

Of course, driver of car behind gets out of his car (baby blue mini- there are more butch vehicles) and comes to have a go at me reversing in stationary traffic. ("You nearly hit me!" "Did I actually hit you?" "No, but still!"), and the police, bless 'em, roll slowly past us as they turn right, the officer driving puts down the window, thanks me and tells the guy to get back in his car. I don't think I've ever heard someone huff as loudly in my life. I just laughed.

Obviously wasn't much of an emergency if they had time to stop and thank you!

This. I always look behind me to see if I am the last one, if I am I'll drive past.

I just drive past  Smiley

Got fed up with approaching a right hand junction where I used to let people out who were turning right from the junction. Some just didn't move, causing me to miss my chance due to oncoming traffic eventually arriving. Some did move but took so long about it that I missed my chance yet again. Don't bother now unless I'm in a queue that is hardly moving.

In traffic, if someone tries to force their way out, i stand my ground, if the person is waiting patiently, 9 times out of 10 i will let them out.

People trying to force their way out are generally BMW drivers. They can spin.

People who suddenly stop dead in front of you when walking  in crowds to text/make phone call.

People who take up the whole width of the pavement and walk at snail's pace, or when coming towards you continue to block the pavement meaning you have to walk in the road or crush yourself up against a wall/fence etc

The same thing in Queens drive when the 2 lanes merge into 1 by the college. They undertake along the inside lane then try to push in at the bus lane. I never let anyone in along there

Thanks for all your kind words chaps.  They're much appreciated.

Not a great start to the New Year and will take a bit of time to get over, but unfortunately these things happen.

Sorry to hear that we have been through this (twice) so have an idea what you must be going through, talking is always good
