Trivial things you don't understand/mildly annoy you

Purchased 3 x Samsung Galaxy Tabs on Black Friday from Very.co.uk for £129 each (should have been £329).  I've just received a call from Very to say there was a pricing error and they should have been £269.  Unfortunately they can't honour the incorrect price, but as a gesture of goodwill will offer an additional £20 off!

Pissed off is the not the word.  There were on offer at that price for an hour and my order confirmation clearly states the price off £129.  Apparently there is small print in their Terms & Conditions effectively getting them out of situations like this (although I'm yet to find it).  I've just rung the back had a lengthy conversation with another advisor who has said they have to honour the lower price and has put notes on my account to that effect.  She has told me that if I'm charged the higher price on my statement, to ring back and it will be adjusted.

My concern is I will be charged the higher price and then they'll refuse to adjust it.  Has anyone got any experience of anything similar?  Have I got any rights at all?

In shops they don't have to honour the price, seems online is a bit more of a grey area.

The man speaks wisdom. Smacks of ongoing unresolved aggro. Certainly wouldn't put any faith in a verbal offer to honour the price. Probably wouldn't put a lot more in having it in writing ("Sorry, that agent was not authorised to make that commitment to you"), but if you've only got it verbally, you've got nothing really. I'd be tempted to go for asking for a nominal amount of compensation (say £20 per tab) to let it drop then look round for someone else offering them cheap. Because rest assured, there's no such thing as a "Special Black Friday price" - if Very can do it for £x then plenty of others can too.

Bit of a bugger if they were kids xmas presents, but miss-prices get cancelled all the time. Hmmm to gamble on the verbal offer or not. Depends if a) it would knacker you financially if they charge the higher price, b) if its easy to return for refund and who pays postage/if there are any other 'restock' fees.

I guess you can google around b, but only you can answer a..

Not sure I'd bother, can't see them reducing it to £129 despite the "note on account"

My sister got sticthed up by a buyer for no apparant reason. They had a date of completion etc all ready to go. Luckily she got another buyer quickly. I hope yours works out as people can be utter cunts where house buying is concerned. Alot of the arseholes seem to be those who buy multiple properties to let out.

'Black Friday'. Why the hell are we in this country referring to last Friday as that? We're not Americans and therefore Black Friday doesn't exist here. Isn't the term to do with the day after Thanksgiving as that's when the yanks start their Christmas Shopping 'spree' - assume as most have the day off?
