Only just seen this story from yesterday:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-23004880

Quote
The Premier League is to request a court order forcing internet service providers to block a popular football streaming website before the next season.

The League wants ISPs to cut off access to FirstRow1.eu, which operates from Sweden.

I'm annoyed by it because FirstRow1.eu is my go to site for streams, but on the other hand it is ludicrous to think that blocking it will reduce the number of people streaming football.  I doubt the demise of the original Piratebay dented music/video piracy; I seem to recall that the replacement was up within hours.

The Premier League are requesting a court order that all ISPs block Firstrowsports, none of them are going to challenge it. Now where am I gonna stream the hockey games that the NHL blacks out feom their online player? Bastards.

Mid summer.  Right now, there are millions of kids thinking 'What's this?!  You're trying to get me to sleep and we both know it isn't getting dark for another couple of hours.  Madness.'  Two of them are upstairs.  It's a pain in the arse.

How the Norwegians manage, I'll never know.  The best black out blinds that money will buy and sedatives, maybe.

Or you could campaign for the UK to go to CET. It always seems out of synch to me and even though it gets endlessly discussed, no government ever seems able to make the change, or even put it to a vote.

Wouldn't that make the problem worse?!  (Daylight at 10pm becomes daylight at 11pm etc?)

Personally, I think there's a good reason we're not on CET...we're further west.  Have to draw the line somewhere.  To use a good example, the sun rose in London at 4.43am this morning.  And in Berlin, it also rose at 4.43am (ie 60 mins earlier).  The time difference of 1 hour between the two is spot on.

At the equator 900 miles = 1 hour.

Just access it by IP. ISP's invariably block a domain and not an IP. They're clever like that.

To be fair, I was there first. She didn't seem to accept that as a valid reason for me being served before her.
